Meet Us
A small team bringing Chris Leguizamon’s beer education to life with warmth and curiosity.
Who We Are
Working behind Chris Leguizamon's beer education platform is a relatively small number of fictional collaborative members working together to develop and produce learning experiences, stories and community events. The group consists of five (5) individuals representing different aspects of the educational process ranging from the scientific study of sensory perception to hospitality training to developing unique content.
Chris Leguizamon
Founder/Lead Educator
Chris Leguizamon is an Advanced Cicerone, Certified BJCP Beer Judge, public speaker and educator whose goal is to present beer education in a manner that allows all people to find approachable. Chris presents his message through storytelling, science, community involvement and welcomes all learners to participate.
He provides educational instruction through the means of leading tastings, workshops, mentoring programs and public speaking engagements; all with the intent of promoting accessibility and curiosity.
Chris' objective is straightforward: "To make beer education friendly, interesting, exciting and available to everyone."

Alex Rivera
Education/Sensory Lead
Alex Rivera is primarily involved in the development of structured sensory-based tasting sessions. He has an abiding interest in understanding how people perceive flavors. As such he works to transform complex tasting principles into tangible experiential learning opportunities.
Alex emphasizes developing curiosity versus accuracy in his workshops. By encouraging students to rely on their own perceptions, he supports developing student self-confidence in articulating their observations regarding what they have experienced.
When not engaged in providing educational services related to beer, Alex participates in various activities including but not limited to: coffee cupping experiments using aromas and developing various flavor mapping projects.

Jordan Kim
Events/Community Coordinator
Jordan Kim coordinates educational events, workshops, seminars and speaking engagements. Jordan is able to create a sense of continuity throughout each event regardless of size. This includes organizing tastings for just a few attendees to larger multi-day conference style events.
Jordan's primary function is to establish a community centered environment at each event allowing attendees to feel comfortable asking questions and offering opinions regarding the subject matter.
Jordan is very interested in hospitality, cultural exchange and creating environments in which attending educational events does not seem unnatural and/or unpleasant.

Sam Patel
Content/Storytelling Lead
Sam Patel is responsible for producing educational materials in written form (blog posts, guidelines, web site content), as well as digital storytelling on behalf of the educational platform. Sam assists Chris in presenting information about beer in a manner that appeals to those with varying degrees of experience.
Sam believes there is a story behind every beer, and that every story should be presented in a clear and meaningful fashion.
In addition to assisting with the educational platform, Sam writes travel articles and produces documentary-style storytelling.

Taylor Brooks
Design/Visual Experience
Taylor Brooks develops the visual elements of Chris' educational brand (web site layout, images used on the web site and presentations). Taylor strives to ensure all visual elements are consistent with one another, modern in appearance and visually appealing.
Taylor views graphic design as being a blend of editorial aesthetic with educational clarity. In essence, Taylor designs graphics that will support the learning experience, without overwhelming the learner.
Taylor finds inspiration for her design work from magazine design, architectural design and minimalist art.

Shared Mission
As a collective unit this team endeavors to deliver educational beer experiences that are accessible, inclusive and stimulating. Regardless if delivered by way of formalized tastings, storytelling, events or digital media, all things done are based upon the premise of curiosity, relationships and shared communities.
